“Hi. Can I use you as a model in the next few days? I want to wrap your (nearly) naked body in yarn and take photos of you for the DeNada show.” –The 2AM text I sent to my soon-to-be model.
When Virginia Arrisueno invites you to spend a morning playing dress up with her gorgeous knitwear line, DeNada, you don't say no. Imagine my delight when she invited me to participate alongside talented photographers Emma McAlary & Kate Warren for "Perspective: A Photography Showcase".
I am the first to admit that fashion isn't my usual genre of interest; I don't do it often, I wouldn't consider myself especially skilled at it, and I don't subscribe to a single fashion magazine or blog. Yet I realized 2014 was a year of great changes in my life and I owed it to my personal development to try something new.
After 48 hours of pure anxiety and panic I managed to pull myself together and take the appropriate steps towards making the shoot happen. Now all I can think about is how ready I am to do another shoot that pushes me outside the boundaries of my comfort zone.
A huge thank you goes out to my model Alison Curtis-Boyd for always trusting me with the beauty she possesses (inside & out!), and Virginia for her invitation to be in the show & use of her gorgeous space.
